USSI's Outage
Management Software was instrumental in managing a large
outage caused by high winds in the southwestern area of
Greene county, Tennessee. There were of more than 6000 customers
without power in more than 150 separate outages. With USSI
OMS as the central tracking and management tool, GLPS operations
managment and crews were able to identify the larger and
critical outages and restore them with priority in order
to get the majority of users on line within 24 hours. All
outages were safely restored within three business days.
The prediction engine, AMR interface, map interface and
crew managment features were invaluable in the very effective

AMR Analyze saved
thousands of dollars for Greeneville Light and Power customers
this winter by using its Statistical Process Control features
to identify power usage patterns indicating that the customer's
heat pump compressor had failed and the unit was heating
with the ineffecient emergency heating system. In January
2007, WCYB TV news in Bristol TN/VA included a feature on
their nightly news that describes the process and commented
positively on the software and the forward thinking of the
