MAPPING/GIS/FM
with STAKING
USSI
MAP-FM is a powerful full featured Mapping/GIS/FM application
for building and maintaining a GIS database of the utility's
active circuit map using a customized ESRI Map Objects graphics
editor. The system has an easy- to-use interface to draw
the circuit map and has convenient "AutoCAD like"
features such as object rotation. The mapping system is
fully integrated into the USSI
OMS system providing exceptional value and performance.
The system can also be purchased stand-alone and includes
a fully integrated Staking package.
GPSING
to Build or Correct ACAD or ESRI maps
A GPSing Module is included in the software to facilitate
map conversions, correct maps, and facilitate system inventorying.
This module provides features to gather GPS coordinate information
as well as attribute information (pole number, pole owner,
devices on the pole, etc.) taken in the field with data
collectors such as Garman or Trimble handhelds. These powerful
features provide for correcting old map data by semi-automatically
moving old source map positions to newly corrected GPS coordinates
and to update collected attribute data.
Project
Design/Staking for Engineering Projects
The software also allows Engineers to record GIS and attribute
data on GPS handhelds in the field and upload the information
as a Design Project. The Project can be saved, edited, converted
into a work order, and upon completion, integrated into
the active circuit model. Maps can be superimposed over
land base-maps such as overflight maps.
Affordable
and Standards-based
The software produces standard shape files and standard
database files and can import or export data from/to other
GIS/Mapping applications such as existing AutoCAD or ESRI
maps. There is no requirement for expensive AutoCAD, ESRI,
Microsoft Server, etc. licenses so that a USSI site license
allows for multiple servers for high performance, multiple
workstations for engineers and operators, and for multiple
mobile truck based maps.
